East Providence's Carmone shines in national cross-country meet

EVANSVILLE, Indiana -- Erin Carmone, of East Providence, a freshman at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. finished 23rd on Saturday at the national Division II Cross Country Championships.

One division, two state champions in girls hockey


There may be only one division in the Interscholastic League girls hockey ranks this winter, but there will be two state champions.

When Lincoln School informed the Interscholastic League that it would not compete in girls hockey this winter, League officials decided to combine what had been a nine-team league with two divisions in previous years into a one-division, eight-team league for the 2009-10 season.

Burrillville girls record "victory" of their own at class meet

Sometimes a victory has nothing to do with coming in first. The Burrillville girls cross country team is a perfect example of that. Hendricken earns playoff berth

Barrington earns top football playoff seed

Mt. Hope earns semifinal playoff berth
