Woonsocket clinches football playoff berth

WARWICK - Woonsocket clinched one of the four Division II-A football playoff berths as the VIlla Novans rolled to a 40-0 victory over Warwick Vets Friday night.

The victory improved the Villa Novans record to 5-1 with one league game remaining before the start of the eight-team Division II playoffs on Nov. 16.

Travis Gagne led the Woonsocket attack with three touchdowns and 137 yards rushing, all in the first half.
