Three teams survived 2-1 nailbiters in Monday's opening round of Division II playoff action, including Smithfield which edged Burrillville thanks to goals by Marissa Gagnon and Emily Gonsalves. The Sentinels have earned the spot opposite three-time state runner-up Wheeler in Thursday's second semifinal game at 7 p.m. at Cranston Stadium. Led by Mia Gooding's three goals, the Warriors advanced with a 6-0 win over Rocky Hill.

Classical - which slipped past South Kingstown on Emily Grande-Savick's game-winner - and II-South champion Pilgrim - which beat Chariho, thanks to Jenna Bessette's goal in overtime - will meet in the first semifinal at 5.

The championship games for both divisions will be played Sunday at Cranston Stadium, with the Division I final set for 1 p.m., followed by the Division II final at 3.
