Tennis championships postponed

PAWTUCKET - The championship matches in the Interscholastic League Division I and III boys team tennis tournaments were postponed Sunday because of rain.

Both title matches now will be played Monday at Slater Park joining the Division II title match, which already scheduled to be played Monday at Slater.

The Division III title match between Portsmouth and St. Raphael did get started SUnday, but was suspended when the rain started. All of the seven matches, four singles and three doubles, were still in progress when the match was suspended. That match will be resumed at 10 a.m. Monday.

The Division II title match between Cumberland and Westerly now will be played at 11 a.m. Monday and the Division I championship matching 10-time defending state champion South Kingstown and Hendricken will be played at 1 p.m.
