Springer, Ross, Gregorek among nation's fastest high school tracksters

A few area high school tracksters have clocked some of the fastest times in the country this spring:

According to Dyestat, Andrew Springer is ranked among the top three in the nation in a few events. His winning time of 3:56.90 in the 1,500 at the Southern Division Championships ranks third in the U.S. He has also posted the second-fastest time in the 2-Mile with his 9:09.14 at the Hartford Invitational and has run the third-fastest mile of the year with his 4:08.79, also run at Hartford. In addition, the Bulldogs senior helped Westerly's DMR record the fastest time in the nation - a 10:01.13 at the Loucks Games in White Plains, N.Y. earlier this month.

East Greenwich senior Nick Ross has run the fifth-fastest time in the U.S. in the 1,500 with his 3:57.30 at the Southern Divisionals. His 8:35.62 effort in the 3,000 at the Penn Relays is ranked 15th in the country, and his 4:16.30 mile at Hartford is ranked 17th.

John Gregorek, a junior at Seekonk, has the No. 5 time in the 2-Mile (9:14.40 at Twilight Dual Meet) and the 16th-fastest time in the Mile (4:15.93 at Hartford).
