Division I girls lax final goes into overtime

Reporting from Rhode Island College:

The Division I girls lacrosse final between Barrington and North Kingstown has entered overtime.

Barrington erased a four-goal deficit, taking an 8-7 lead on a goal by Caroline Gordon with 5:41 remaining. Jessica Bachetti, who had set up Gordon for that tally, then scored herself a little more than a minute later to make it 9-7.

But Taylor Bastien set up Haley Lattinville with 43 seconds left to get North Kingstown within one. Kelsey McGee scored on a free position with 2 seconds on the clock to tie it up.

The teams have just begun the first of two 3-minute overtime periods.
