Seven former R.I. high school stars garner RIC MVP honors

Some familiar names from the Rhode Island high school ranks were among the Most Valuable Players honored at Rhode Island College's annual spring banquet, held earlier this month at the Quonset Point Officer's Club in North Kingstown.

Baseball - Gary Levesque, a former All-Division player at East Providence

Golf - Derek Jensen, a former All-Stater from Cumberland

Women's Lacrosse - Molly Voyer, an All-Division selection while at Lincoln High

Softball - Donielle Mattoon, a former All-Division player from Coventry

Men's Tennis - Garrett Smith, an All-Class player while at Exeter-West Greenwich

Men's Outdoor Track & Field - Dante Lopardo, of Johnston

Women's Outdoor Track & Field - Kayla Fleming, an All-State high jumper from Tolman
