Several Rhode Islanders set to compete at Penn Relays
This year's Penn Relay Carnival, to be held April 23-25 at the University of Pennsylvania, will feature approximately 22,000 entrants representing more than 60 countries. A number of Rhode Island high school teams will be among those competing at the three-day event, which will include more than 425 races held at an average rate of one race every five minutes during the 33 hours of competition.

NOTES: The 4x100m & 4x800m heats are divided by size...SS = small schools...LS = Large Schools. However, the 4x400m is held in sections w/ all schools, regardless of size, randomly seeded into 36 sections for Girls on Thursday and 34 sections for Boys on Saturday held during a 3-hour span. Each 4x400 section is an event itself, with a plaque to the winning team, and medals to top 3 individuals. Then the eight fastest of all teams, from all sections, qualify for the Championship Final...held later in the meet.
