Mickey Jusme NEWMAC Field Athlete of the Year

Wheaton College freshman Mickey Jusme of Providence (Classical) is the first recipient of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Field Athlete of the Year Award. In previous years the league recognized the top overall competitor but now cites the top track and top field performers.

Jusme is the first Wheaton freshman to be so honored. Last Saturday at the NEWMAC Championship at Mount Holyoke College, she won the triple jump with a meet-record jump of 39-feet, 3 3/4 inches and finished second in the long jump with a didstance of 17-11 1/2. She is a provisional qualifier in each event for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.
