La Salle's Barrett headed to Clemson

Currently putting the finishing touches on what has been an outstanding running career at La Salle, Emily Barrett plans to continue her athletic career at Clemson University in South Carolina this fall.

Planning to major in communications, the senior - who has excelled in the sprints and hurdles and has been a member of the Rams' various state champion relay teams - will join the track team as a walk-on and looks forward to competing with the Tigers in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

That won't be the last we hear of the Barretts at La Salle, though. Emily's younger brother, Nicholas, a sophomore, has joined the boys track team and is throwing the discus and shot put.
