Rhode Island pair leading Roxbury CC
A year ago, Willeen Capehart and Christalee Lynch were leading their teams to the Rhode Island Interscholastic League girls basketball tournament. Now they are leading Roxbury Community College to the NJCAA Division III Region XXI Tournament.
Capehart, a guard on La Salle's 2008 state championship team, is a captain of the Roxbury team and scored 15 points in the Lady Tigers 67-55 victory over Massasoit CC on Sunday for the Massachusetts Community College Athletic Conference title . She also had six assists.
Lynch, who played for Classical, had 16 points and 9 rebounds for top-seeded Roxbury in its 73-34 romp over Holyoke CC in the semifinals and 9 points and 16 rebounds in the championship game.
Roxbury is 21-4 and ranked ninth in NJCAA Division III. The Lady Tigers will be the top seed at the regional tournament Saturday and Sunday at Quinsigamond CC in Worcester.
Mark Leszczyk of Greenville is the Roxbury head coach.

This is awesome. Capehart and Lynch have been representing all year. They also have Ebony Briggs from Mt Pleasant as another threat. Coach Leszczyk has done a fine job combining talent from providence and boston into his college program!
