Springer to test his mettle Saturday against nation's best harriers

The 30th annual running of the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships will be held December 13, 2008 over the Morley Field Course at Balboa Park in San Diego, California. Runners again will stay at the famous Hotel Del Coronado on the Pacific Ocean beach of Coronado Island.

40 Girls [10 each from four Regional Qualifiers] will start at 9:15 a.m.PST...while the 40 Boys will go off at 10:00 a.m. PST...each race over 5,000 meters, consisting of two identical 1.5+ mile loops that provide a challenging hill at 1 mile and again at 2.5 miles.

This National XC Champs was originally sponsored [from 1979-1992] by KINNEY...when in 1993 it became Foot Locker. And although this meet was conducted for a few scattered years in Orlando, FL, all previous RI competitors ran in San Diego, as follows...
