La Salle girls XC ranked 10th in Northeast by Dyestat

The La Salle girls cross country team, which successfully defended its state crown last month at Ponaganset, earned the 10th spot in this week's Northeast Region Team Rankings by Dyestat.

"My girls are pretty excited about the recognition," said Rams coach Kelly Martin. "It really means something to them because this year has been such a struggle. Last year, the team wasn't even ranked at the end of the season, so this is a huge accomplishment for them."

No other Rhode Island teams made the top 10 in the Northeast rankings, although Barrington was listed as a bubble team on the girls' side, as were both Hendricken and La Salle - which finished 1-2, respectively, at the state meet - on the boys' side.
