Projo.com will have photo galleries from tonight's playoff games between North Providence and Classical, and South Kingstown and Shea.

Tomorrow, we'll have stories on the Division I games between East Providence and North Kingstown, and Hendricken and La Salle, as well as the Division II game between South Kingstown and Shea.

WHAT HAPPENED: The Rebels rode the running of Greg Hanna and a defense that held North Kingstown to just two first downs in the second half.

STARS OF THE GAME: Hanna had four touchdown runs, and Nathan Dubois returned an interception for a touchdown for South Kingstown.

WHAT HAPPENED: After being held scoreless in the first half, Cranston East scored two touchdowns in the second to pick up the victory.

STAR OF THE GAME: Jon Pirolli rushed for more than 100 yards and both 'Bolt touchdowns, and added two interceptions on defense.

WHAT HAPPENED: The Broncos shut out the Chieftains until the final quarter. The two quarterbacks, Steve Hauser of Burrillville and Pat Fogarty of Ponaganset, received the two $1,000 Bradley LaFontaine scholarships that are awarded every year to each team.

WHAT HAPPENED: The Huskies broke a multi-year skid to even the all-time series in front of their home crowd.

STAR OF THE GAME: Mike Borges ran for a 44 yard touchdown and caught a 46-yarder to lead the Mt. Hope attack. Borges was named Most Valuable Player for Mt. Hope, and Riley O'Connell won the designation for Barrington.

SERIES NOW STANDS: Tied at 7 wins apiece.

WHAT HAPPENED: The Bulldogs scored 14 points in the final quarter to pull this back-and-forth rivalry closer to even.

STARS OF THE GAME: Westerly's James Lathrop rushed for three touchdowns and more than 100 yards, putting him over 1,000 yards for the season. John Connelly accounted for all 14 Stonington points.

WHAT HAPPENED: North Smithfield jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
STARS OF THE GAME: Quarterback Josh Euglow put on a show. He scored twice, on runs of 50 and 12 yards; passed for a pair of touchdowns (20 yards to Pat Keenan and 13 yards to Ryan Pandolfi), and kicked four extra points.

East Providence 12, La Salle 8

East Providence altered the Division I playoff picture by defeating previously unbeaten La Salle, 12-8, in the rain and slop at Pierce Memorial Field today.

Both the Townies and the Rams finished the regular season with one loss, but East Providence will be the top seed in the playoffs by virtue of its head-to-head victory.

Today's scheduled game between Exeter/West Greenwich and Chariho has been moved to tomorrow night at 6. The game is at Chariho.

Early Thanksgiving postponement

Happy Thanksgiving morning!

Though the weather doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as the forecasters predicted -- as I write this in Cranston, it's not raining and the sky, while cloudy, is actually pretty bright -- there's one early postponement to announce. The Exeter/West Greenwich-at-Chariho game has been postponed to Friday night at 6 p.m.

Another postponement in Warwick

Tomorrow's Toll-Gate-Bishop Hendricken game has been postponed to Friday at 2 p.m., according to the Web site of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League.

Woonsocket-Cumberland postponed to Friday

The annual Woonsocket vs. Cumberland Thanksgiving Day game has been postponed to Friday at 7 p.m. due to the forecast for rain tomorrow, Clipper AD Frank Geiselman reports. The game will be played at Tucker Field.

Thanksgiving Day football game between East Providence-La Salle to air live on Cox Sports Television

Don't despair if you can't make it to the East Providence-La Salle football game Thanksgiving morning at Pierce Field. Cox Sports Teleivision plans to air live coverage of the game, beginning with a pre-game show at 9:30 a.m., as well as a rebroadcast at 7 p.m.

Wheeler field hockey alumni game set for Nov. 25

The Wheeler School field hockey team will hold its annual alumni game on Nov. 25 - the Saturday after Thanksgiving - at 10:30 a.m. at the Wheeler Farm fieldhouse. A luncheon will follow.

O'Neil, Dion named Girls' and Boys' Coaches of the Year

Congratulations are in order for Keven O'Neil and Peter Dion, recipients of this year's Larry Gallogly Awards.

O'Neil, coach of the state champion North Kingstown girls cross country team, was selected by his peers as the Girls' Coach of the Year.

Dion, who helped resurrect the boys' cross country program at East Greenwich several years ago, was honored as the Boys' Coach of the Year.

Griffin top Rhode Island boy at N.E. XC meet

Refocused Skipper girls take second at N.E. XC meet

After falling short of its goal of winning a record six-straight state championships last fall, the North Kingstown girls cross country team was definitely refocused this season.

The Skippers added a seventh title to their string of Class A Championships, won their sixth state crown in seven years, then capped it off with their third runner-up finish in the last six years at yesterday’s New England Championships.
